Schematic features of the PPI radar image and die result by the 2-dimensional analysis. (A) is the PPI radar image. (B) is the grid point data of the radar sea echo in the analyzing area. (C) is the result of the 2- dimensional spectral analysis. The bearing is a relative direction. observayional site. Visually wind waves and swell were not recognized clearly.
On the 16th and 17th of November, the seasonal northerly wind blew relatively strong before and after die moving high passed, respectively. Wind waves and swell were not clearly recognized visually.
On the 16th, 19th, and 21st of December, the seasonal northerly wind blew relatively strong. Wind waves and swell both were relatively clearly distinguished visually.

5. ANALYTICAL RESULT
The 49-run observational data, that is 49 data sets of the radar sea echo, were analyzed by the 2-dimensional spectral analysis method to obtain 2-dimensional information of prevailing waves, the wavelength and the propagating direction. The Analytical results are summarized in Table 5.
On the 13th of October, wind waves and swell were analyzed by the wave observation system and
